Meet Bennett
Bennett and Wyatt are two-year-old identical twins, but their journeys have looked incredibly different. While Wyatt is busy keeping up with his two older brothers—running, talking, and exploring new foods—Bennett is just starting to learn how to roll over.
Before the boys were even born, they developed a rare condition called Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). The complications from TTTS were severe. Bennett suffered bilateral grade 4 intraventricular hemorrhages—the most severe form of brain bleeds. This resulted in extreme damage to both sides of his brain, leading to three brain surgeries and the placement of a permanent shunt.
Because of this damage, Bennett was diagnosed with Spastic Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy and Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI).
• Cerebral Palsy: is a lifelong neurological disorder that affects the way the brain communicates with the body’s muscles.
•CVI: is a vision problem caused by damage to the parts of the brain that process sight. While Bennett's eyes can collect visual signals normally, his brain struggles to interpret, organize, and understand them.
The Struggle and The Hope
Because of these diagnoses, Bennett faces severe hurdles in his development. Over the last two years, his parents, Lexi and Brandon, have devoted themselves to his care—juggling countless weekly therapy appointments in Madison, Milwaukee, and Green Bay. Yet, despite their relentless efforts, they have had to watch Bennett fall further behind his twin brother.
But this isn’t where Bennett’s story ends.
Because Bennett is so young, his brain possesses incredible neuroplasticity. This means that with the right, highly specialized treatments and therapies, new neural pathways can be formed to make up for the ones he has lost.
The potential for progress is huge, but so is the financial barrier. The high costs of these specialized treatments have held Lexi and Brandon back from pursuing them sooner. But with your help, Bennett can start some of these treatments he desperately needs before the end of the year.
*Where Your Support Will Go*
We are raising funds to send Bennett to two life-changing opportunities:
• The Cortical Visual Impairment Conference (Boston, MA - July 2026): Here, Bennett will be introduced to the top visual specialists in the world and receive specialized ocular therapy. Lexi and Brandon will also receive vital training to bring home, fundamentally improving how Bennett interacts with the world around him.
• The NAPA Center Intensive Therapy (Austin, TX - Later this year): Bennett has been approved for a three-week intensive program at the Neurological and Physical Abilitation (NAPA) Center—the best facility of its kind in the United States. For a month, Bennett will put in serious work: five full days a week of highly individualized therapies, including Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), speech, occupational, and physical therapy. The neural pathways formed during these three weeks have the potential to truly change his trajectory.
