Due to unexpected circumstances, my children and I found ourselves homeless in West Haven, Connecticut. To keep us off the streets, I've had to move us into a hotel, but now I have an opportunity for a more stable home. I've secured a new apartment we can move into in September, but covering the security deposit and first month's rent is impossible with my current situation. The hotel expenses are consuming every paycheck, leaving me with no room to save. I’m even skipping meals to ensure my children have enough to eat.
