On January 18th, our close friend, Jimmy Hubbard, and his family experienced a devastating loss that words hardly begin to cover.
Circle H Farm, a family sheep farm that has been part of Medina, Ohio since the early 1900s, was destroyed by fire. The barn, which had stood for generations, is now nothing more than a pile of smoking debris. With it, every single animal was lost. Nothing could be saved.
This farm wasn’t just land or buildings, it was a family heirloom, passed down through generations. It was where our friend learned the meaning of hard work, responsibility, and pride. It’s all he has ever known and something he has been teaching his children. Circle H Farm wasn’t a business to them, it was a way of life.
To make this loss even more heartbreaking, there is a story behind these sheep that few people knew.
Many years ago, Jimmy’s grandfather bred a rare, high-quality line of sheep that became part of the farm’s legacy. Over time, that bloodline faded away. But two years ago, Jimmy made it his mission to bring it back, to honor his grandfather and preserve what had once been built with so much care.
He traveled out of state to the very farmers who had originally given his grandfather the breeding stock decades ago. This year was supposed to be the turning point. The sheep were pregnant, and lambing was expected to begin in just one month. A full circle moment; generations reconnecting was finally within reach.
And then, in one morning, it was gone..
There was no insurance on the buildings or livestock. Rebuilding will be overwhelming, expensive, and emotionally exhausting but we refuse to let a Medina County farming legacy end this way.
If you know our community, you know how deeply we support our local farmers. Circle H Farm has always been part of that fabric. This fundraiser is about more than rebuilding a barn it’s about helping a family stand back up after losing everything they worked generations to protect.
Every donation, every share, every kind word helps. Whether you can give $5 or simply help spread the word, you are helping preserve a piece of Medina County history.
Thank you for standing with this family in their darkest moment. Together, we can help rebuild Circle H Farm; Not just the land, but the legacy behind it.
