On Thursday, June 13th my brother Thad was in a life-changing car accident. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. After hours of emergency surgery, the amazing trauma surgeons located and repaired the source of his internal bleeding, and internal injuries, and stabilized his dislocated hip and broken pelvis. After the lifesaving surgery on Thursday, he had another 5-hour surgery on Friday to repair his hips and pelvis. This surgery required the placement of an unbelievable number of rods, screws, plates, pins, etc. The result of these life-threatening injuries requires Thad to be hospitalized for an unforeseen amount of time. During this time Thad will work with his physical therapy team to learn how to walk again as well as work on other activities of daily living. These life-changing conditions Thad is experiencing are not only challenging him physically but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Our prayers are with Thad; we pray that he will persevere on this long road of recovery. A HUGE thank you to everyone who has reached out and for all the thoughts and prayers- you have no idea how grateful we are!!!
It is heartbreaking to see Thad go through this agonizing time. These first few days have been so painful, BUT the months to come are going to be even more challenging. As the Grateful Dead said, “The wheel is turning and you can’t slow down, you can’t let go and you can’t hold on, You can’t go back and you can’t stand still, If the thunder don’t get you then the lightning will”
Thad can use all the help he can get through the thunder and lightning of this storm he is experiencing. First and most importantly please continue to pray for Thad and his recovery!!!!! If you are able to donate no matter how big or small to help assist with his recovery and literally and figuratively keep his lights on it is SO APPRECIATED!
