My name is Erika Alvarez, and my family is facing the hardest time of our lives. My mom, Francisca Villanueva, is currently in the hospital fighting for her life. She fell ill this past Friday when her body began to fail due to Stage 5 kidney disease and severe anemia. Right now, she is receiving a blood transfusion in hopes of stabilizing her.
I am an only child, and I carry the full responsibility of caring for both of my parents. My dad is blind, fully dependent on my help, and also on dialysis. I already cover much of his medical care and daily needs. Now, with my mom in the hospital, I am struggling to manage two critically ill parents, a full-time job, and raising my three children here in California.
Francisca is not only my mom — she is a loving wife and a proud grandmother who wants nothing more than to be here with her family for many years to come. But the reality is, medical bills, transportation to treatments, rent, and daily expenses are more than I can handle alone.
The funds raised will help cover:
- Hospital and medical bills for my mom
- Dialysis and ongoing care for both parents
- Transportation to and from treatments
- Basic living expenses so we can keep our home and stability for the kids
