Recently, I became a single mother after my children’s father was incarcerated. The tears, sleepless nights, and anxiety my kids have been experiencing broke my heart — and I knew I had to find a way to help them heal and find some happiness again.
That’s when we came up with the idea of starting a little lemonade stand. It may sound simple, but for my children, it’s so much more — it’s a way to stay busy, smile, and feel proud of themselves during a really hard time in their young lives.
As a single mom in this very expensive world, I can’t afford to give them much, but I’m determined to give them hope.
