Help Artemis Keep Dancing 🤍

As a mom, there are certain things you fight a little harder for when you know just how much they mean to your child. For Artemis, that thing is dance.

Artemis is 10 years old and has been dancing since she was just 18 months old. Dance has been part of her life for almost as long as she can remember. She has quite literally grown up in a dance studio.

Over the years, what started as a tiny toddler in a dance class has grown into a genuine passion and a dream for her future. Dance isn't simply an extracurricular activity for Artemis. It's a huge part of who she is. She is dedicated, works incredibly hard, and has dreams of one day working professionally in the dance industry.

Our family has gone through a lot of changes over the past year as I navigate a divorce and adjust to supporting my children on my own. With those changes came some very difficult financial decisions, and for a while, I truly believed I was going to have to pull Artemis from dance. She was heartbroken.

After months of conversations, tears, praying, budgeting and trying to figure out what was possible, I couldn't shake the feeling that taking away something she has loved for nearly her entire life wasn't the answer.

Especially when I see how seriously she takes her future.

Artemis has been given opportunities to apprentice with a dance organization and travel to assist and learn alongside other dancers and choreographers. She has big dreams of someday traveling to Los Angeles, training with some of the choreographers she admires and ultimately building a career in the dance industry.

So I made a promise to myself: as long as I can find a way, I am going to help her keep chasing that dream.

This season will look different for us. We aren't returning at the same level we have in previous years because I have to keep her dance expenses at an amount I can realistically manage on my own. But she gets to walk back into that studio. She gets to keep training, growing and doing what she loves.

And that's where our village comes in 🤍

I'm raising funds to help offset Artemis's dance expenses this season, including tuition, training, competition and convention fees, costumes, choreography and travel expenses. I'm also looking for fundraising opportunities and individuals or businesses who may be interested in sponsoring Artemis during her dance journey.

I don't know exactly where dance will take this little girl. Maybe one day I'll be sitting in an audience in LA watching her live out the dreams she's talking about at 10 years old.

But I do know this:

I want Artemis to grow up knowing that when life changed around her, she didn't have to stop dreaming.

To everyone who has loved, encouraged and supported my children over the years, thank you. Our village has always shown up for us in ways I'll never forget.

Here's to another year of watching Artemis dance her little heart out. 🩰🤍

Thank you for believing in her and her dreams.
