Clazle (Clay) Calangi-Maranan discovered she had breast cancer in the fall of 2019. She was 7 months pregnant with Kiahra Skai. She was one of the most "selfless" people we knew. She hid her condition from most people during her treatments and continued to live her life like normal. Traveling and providing for her family were two of the biggest things that kept her drive and her reason for living.
On May 16 at 9:25 am, she took her last resting breath, surrounded by the people who loved her most. She is survived by her biggest fortunes, her husband Leslie Maranan and her three children, Jhayden, Elizah and Kiahra.
Born to Lorenza and Claro Calangi on June 2nd, 1981 in Batangas, Philippines, Clay was the oldest of three; Clarence being the middle and Caelah the youngest. Even at a young age, Clay proved her independence and resilience to getting things done the way they needed to be done. She even helped raise her youngest sister while raising her oldest son, Jhayden at the same time.
She got her vocational nursing license in 2012, and landed an amazing job at MD2 in Menlo Park, a nationwide known concierge practice; she loved her career there.
Working as long as she could, even going through treatments, she continued to ensure her family's safety and good health, providing essentials and encouraging every positive step; especially during COVID.
When not working she loved every opportunity she could to be on the islands of Hawaii; including her final wishes of being scattered and memorialized there.
Please consider helping Les and the kids celebrate her life with a proper funeral/memorial and support them in this transition of life towards their endeavors without their loving mother to guide them. She was that unbreakable rock that got them through some hard times; let’s show them how much they are loved and how much Clay has impacted our lives by blessing us with her loyalty and gracious heart.
