I never imagined I would be in a position where I had to ask for help, but today I'm putting my pride aside because my family and I truly need it.
My life changed forever when I was diagnosed with cancer. I went through chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries, and countless doctor appointments, hoping to make it through one day at a time. While I'm thankful to still be here, the battle didn't end when the cancer did.
Because of everything my body went through, I now live with a permanent colostomy bag and have had my left kidney removed. Every single day is a reminder of the fight I've been through. There are good days, but there are also days filled with pain, exhaustion, and worry. The physical and emotional toll has been overwhelming.
I always believed that if I worked hard, I could get through anything. But my health has made it impossible for me to work the way I used to. I'm currently waiting for my disability hearing, and anyone who has been through this process knows how long and stressful the wait can be. Meanwhile, the medical bills keep coming, along with everyday expenses that don't stop just because you're sick.
There have been many nights I've laid awake wondering how I'm going to make it through another month. The stress of trying to survive while dealing with ongoing medical issues has been heartbreaking. I never wanted to ask anyone for help, but I've reached a point where I can't do this alone anymore.
