Hi everyone,
I honestly don’t know the perfect way to ask for help, because asking for help has always been difficult for me. But right now, I’m choosing to be vulnerable and believe that maybe things can be different if I’m willing to let people in.
I’m a single woman with no children, and right now I’m facing the possibility of eviction because I’m two months behind on my rent. I fell behind after being laid off from work, and I’ve been doing everything I can to get back on my feet. I’m currently working and doing everything I can to rebuild financially, but I need help getting through this immediate setback.
Growing up as an orphan and a child of the system, I learned very early that I couldn’t always count on having someone there to catch me when life became difficult. I’ve had to navigate so much of life on my own, and unfortunately, I experienced an eviction just last year after being left in an incredibly difficult situation.
I worked extremely hard to find stable housing again and was fortunate enough to get approved for my current home. The thought of losing it now—after everything it took to get here—is heartbreaking.
I’m asking for $3,300 to catch up on my rent and prevent another eviction. If I can keep my home for the next couple of months, I truly believe I can get through this. I know how hard I work once I have the opportunity to breathe and get stable again. I just need a little time and a little help to get there.
I also have my dog, who depends entirely on me. Keeping a roof over our heads means everything to me right now.
One of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn is that struggling silently doesn’t make you stronger. Sometimes strength means admitting that you need help.
So this is me taking that leap of faith.
If you’re able to donate, every single dollar will go directly toward my rent and would mean more to me than I can put into words. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with someone who may be able to help would mean just as much.
I’m not asking for someone to fix my life. I’m asking for a chance to catch my breath, keep my home, and continue working toward a more stable future.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for showing compassion, and for helping me believe that I don’t have to face every difficult moment completely alone. ❤️
