Our Brooklyn Kung Fu team is proud to have four talented athletes and their coach representing Team USA Shuai Chiao at the World Championships in Italy this fall. DJ Dysert has been training with Brooklyn Kung Fu for eight years, earning multiple national titles and local tournament wins. This will be DJās third time on Team USA, and he has been instructing with Brooklyn Kung Fu under the supervision of Sifu Daniel Cliff for over three years, eager to push himself to new levels of competition and bring home another win for Brooklyn Kung Fu and Team USA.
Danica Cliff, daughter of Sifu Daniel Cliff, is following in her fatherās footsteps as a multi-national champion. She is also a junior instructor, helping younger students grow in their martial arts journey. This will be her second time competing with Team USA overseasāshe won second place in Brazil in 2023.
Alexander Zamir Zayas-Rivera, best known as Alex, has been a dedicated member of Brooklyn Kung Fu for the past three years. Through countless hours of training, hard work, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to the sport, Alex has earned the incredible honor of being selected to represent Team USA as a fighter. He has proudly competed in numerous tournaments, including the Great Lakes Tournament and competitions in Canada, consistently bringing home medals and demonstrating his skill, determination, and sportsmanship.
Our youngest competitor, Daegan Cliff, has been training and competing since he could walk. This will be Daeganās first time representing Team USA, and heās excited to test his skills among other nine-year-olds.
Everyone who competes on Team USA is responsible for covering their own costs, including flights, tournament registration, uniforms, lodging, etc. Weāre seeking support to help offset these expenses for our coach, Sifu Daniel Cliff, and the four competitors. Your support will allow our team to focus on training, motivate them to work hard, and show them how much their community is behind them. Weāre planning to get news coverage and host a big fundraiser event on Thursday, 9/3 so supporters can meet the team in person and cheer them on. Every donation, big or small, helps our athletes focus on their training and reminds them that their community is cheering them on. Thank you for believing in our team and helping us reach new heights together!
