Hi my name is Avery Summerour! I am a leader for a non-profit organization based in New Orleans, Louisiana named Heart of Passion. Our mission is to provide experiences that help teens with cancer tear down walls and add a spark of VIP treatment during key life phases. We accomplish this mission by planning a 4-day retreat called Red Carpet Day. All year long other teens and I from around the New Orleans are plan and fundraise for this retreat in July. We put on fundraisers like Instagram Bingo, Gift Card Raffles, and Silent Auctions to help fund the event.  This retreat is a VIP, all-expense paid-for experience for our deserving guests. During the event we bring our guests to a variety of fun activities. In the past we have gone to the Aquarium, toured the Saints facility, and dined at traditional New Orleans restaurants. Our goal is to help these teens with cancer connect with one another, form life-long connections, and enjoy their lives without thinking about the negative aspects of life that come with cancer. Throughout the year, other leaders and I will work on fundraising and planning this event, this is where you can come in. If you would like to be a part of this experience, you can donate to the organization, which will pay for one of the activities put on during the Red Carpet Day Retreat.
