Brian Goodwin, or as you might know him—Marshall, Pops, or simply Grandpa, has touched the lives of countless people with his extraordinary music and infectious humor. Now, in a time of unexpected medical challenges, Brian faces a journey where his ability to work is under threat. For those of us who know and love Brian, we understand that he is a source of joy and kindness. He’s always extended his hand to lift others, and now it's our turn to support him. With the help of those who care deeply for Brian, we’re starting this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden these medical expenses will incur.Your donation—no matter the size—will make a tremendous difference. Every contribution will help reduce the financial stress, allowing Brian to focus on recovery and continue spreading happiness through his music and laughter. Please consider making a donation today. Your kindness can alleviate some of the burden from Brian and show him just how loved he truly is. Additionally, keep Brian in your prayers, and spread this message to reach as many caring hearts as possible.Much love and gratitude, Brians loving family

UPDATE:

Brian had been very reluctant to share the news but has given me permission to share the diagnosis with his family and friends.

Brian had suffered a seizure a few weeks ago and was admitted to the hospital.

after imaging had been completed the medical team determined that he had a tumor on his brain.  Surgery was performed about 17 days ago and it was determined to be a cancerous growth that was removed at the time of surgery.  Dr’s are not sure of the prognosis at this time because they are not sure of the type of cancer it is.

please really pray for Brian, and if you are able, donate to help him with his mounting medical bills.

He will be at the Persimmon Festival this coming Saturday, and will be singing with ESB!

I wanted to share a quick update on where things stand, mostly because hitting "post" on a health update
feels a bit like realizing you’ve walked into a room and forgotten why you’re there—except the room is the
internet and the reason is cancer.
To give you the short version, I have officially finished the standard radiation and chemo circuit. My recent
MRI—which I’ve started thinking of as the world’s most expensive and uncomfortable headshot—showed
some progress, but the journey is definitely far from over. I’m remaining defiantly optimistic, largely
because any other option seems like too much paperwork.
Being able to continue playing live music through all of this has been my anchor and a vital sense of
normalcy. It’s a huge part of who I am, though I won't sugarcoat the fact that showing up is taking a
significant physical and emotional toll lately.
Facing Glioblastoma (a "fancy" medical term for brain cancer) has led me to explore every possible
treatment to win this fight. The good news is that some of the alternative methods I’m using are making a
real difference and helping me feel like myself again. The frustrating news is that insurance companies
tend to view these life-saving treatments as "optional," meaning they don't cover a dime.
The out-of-pocket costs are, frankly, staggering. While the incredibly generous donations I’ve received so
far have been a lifesaver, the financial strain is still immense. I am beyond grateful for the support that has
kept me going this long.
Asking for help is not something that comes easily to me. I’d much rather be the one offering a hand than
the one holding mine out. But I’ve learned that sometimes you have to let the people who care about you
show up and help carry the load.
If you are able to contribute to my medical fund, please know how deeply thankful I am.
If donating isn’t possible, simply sharing this post with your network helps more than you know.
Thank you for the love, the messages, and the continued encouragement. It truly makes a difference, and I
promise to keep sharing updates as I’m able.- Brian

Wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful holiday season!
An update on Brian's health journey, since people are probably wondering how it is going and how he is feeling.
Brian is a dedicated musician and has continued to perform, and I do not think that he has missed a gig even when he has not felt well.
Brian is a wonderful human being and a great friend!
Brian has finished the radiation and Chemo treatments, and we are waiting for good news with the next MRI that will be completed next month.
Brian is going to a very good clinic in the Indy area, and of course, they do not accept insurance.  The treatments are very expensive, but make him "feel more normal".
I know there are plenty of people stressed financially, physically, or emotionally during the holidays, but I am asking if you can find it in your heart to donate to one great guy to help cover his medical bills.
If you can also pray for a good outcome, we would appreciate that so much.
I will post any updates as soon as we know.
Thank you for your continued prayers.
Much love from Brian's family

Brian has a consultation appt. with the radiologist on Friday Oct. 3rd.  the dr. will be going over an intense treatment plan which will last several weeks.

Brian has also decided that he would like to include the medical care team at the Guyer Institute of Molecular Medicine which is located here in Indianapolis.

the institute does not take any kind of insurance, so the bills will rapidly be adding up.

again i am reaching out to all friends and family that can possible donate, or please please share this news with everyone that you know!

None of us want the stress of mounting medical bills to overwhelm an already overwhelming situation.

we all thank each and every one of you for your continued support both monetarily as well as the texts, cards, and well wishes for Brian.

with love and thanks
