I’m creating this on behalf of my family, because they would never ask for help themselves — and honestly, this is completely out of my comfort zone. But after what happened this week, I want to help in any way I can.The heavy rains in Milwaukee caused a sewage flood in our basement and my bedroom. Within just a few hours, we lost so much: our washer, dryer, refrigerators, furniture, clothes, carpet, and walls. My family and I photographed as much as we could amongst the chaos. We were devastated to learn that our insurance won’t cover any of the damage or losses.
I know life is expensive for everyone right now, and many other families here were also affected by these storms. I’m not asking for anything more than what’s possible for each person — whether that’s a small donation, sharing this page, or pointing us toward resources. Every bit of kindness will truly make a difference.
