We were completely surprised and shocked to find out I was expecting again. This was our fourth baby and our youngest daughter had only just turned one. After the shock had warn off we were so excited! At ten weeks pregnant I started to bleed. Believing we lost our baby, we soon found out that the baby was OK and I instead had a subchorionic hemorrhage. Which means that the placenta was detached from the uterus causing a blood sac to form. This increases the chance of miscarriage and I was essentially not allowed to do anything for myself (not technically bed rest) , but needing help for most things. Later that week we found out our baby was our very first BOY! 💙Every day was a battle emotionally and physically.. having three small girls to take care of and also trying to protect our baby boy growing in my belly. Not only that I was loosing blood every day. The doctor appointments increased and ultrasounds were often. Things unfortunately never seemed to improve with the hemorrhage, but our boy was perfectly healthy and growing! As we were about to enter week 20 my body started having contractions. When I realized they were getting more intense and not slowing down we rushed to the hospital at around 4:30 am. We were praying for a miracle, and that they would be able to stop the contractions and help save our baby, but unfortunately nothing was done. The placenta could not endure the hemorrhage anymore. After a traumatic delivery our beautiful boy was born around 9 am. He was alive up until delivery. Throughout the day at the hospital so many amazing people volunteered their time to pray, make momentum's and just love on us and our sweet baby.
One organization that blew me away was Remember Rowan. Also a loss mom.. she started Remembering Rowan which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to serve bereaved families in Northeast Indiana that have experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss by providing financial assistaHnce with funeral costs and medical expenses. Believing no parent should have to pay for the expensive cost of burying their little one 👼🏽. In our sweet son Jace Michael Otis's due date April 24th I wanted to raise money in his honor to donate to Remembering Rowan! If you feel led to donate we would be estatic!! Anything raised will be sent to them directly!
