We all know Bobby Horne as more than just Sir Mo from Men On a Mission. We know him as a kind, humble, and selfless man who has dedicated his life to lifting others up. Whether you knew him from the bright lights of the WWF in the 1990s or from his tireless work developing young talent all over the world most notably Texas, Bobby has always lived true to his name. He has always been a "Man on a Mission" to help others.

Right now, Bobby is fighting for his life in a Texas ICU. He has been in the hospital for the past 8 weeks. He is battling a severe blood infection and pneumonia. His loving wife Denise Jones has been by his side every step of the way, sharing updates and celebrating every small sign of improvement.

This is not Bobby’s first fight. In 2018, he received a kidney transplant, which required lifelong medication and care. In 2022, he endured a serious case of COVID-19 that once again placed him in intensive care followed by an emergency hernia surgery resulting in his having an ileostomy. We truly thought we might lose him then, but in classic Bobby fashion, he kicked out and came back stronger, continuing his mission to mentor and guide the next generation of wrestlers.

Bobby rose to fame in the early 1990s as one half of the rapping, fan-favorite tag team Men On a Mission alongside Mabel (later known as Viscera). Together, they captured the WWF Tag Team Championships during a 1994 UK tour. When Mabel won the 1995 King of the Ring tournament, Bobby transitioned into the role of Sir Mo, continuing to entertain fans around the world.

In recent years, Bobby has dedicated himself to helping others through his work in SOAR Championship Wrestling in Dallas, where he and Denise have given countless young wrestlers their first real opportunity. His contributions were recognized in 2024 when he was inducted into the Memphis Wrestling Hall of Fame, honoring both his legacy and his generosity.

Despite his many achievements, Bobby has never been a wealthy man. He and Denise have always given everything they had to others. They have given their time, their money, and their hearts without ever asking for much in return. Now, they need us.

This fundraiser is to help cover the growing medical bills, ongoing care, and the many expenses that come with a fight of this magnitude. These funds will help to cover medical and living expenses during this hospital stay.

Whatever your beliefs may be, we ask that you keep Bobby in your thoughts. Say a prayer. Send strength. Share his story. He has always been there for others. Now, it is our turn to be there for him. Please consider donating, no matter the size of your contribution. Every bit helps, and every gesture matters.

Update from one of Bobby Horne's daughters, Chelsea:

Bobby Horne will be laid to rest in Monroe, North Carolina, next to his sweet mama, as were his wishes. Denise Jones and I are joining hearts and minds with his family in North Carolina as we work together to bring him home and have been making phone calls to funeral homes all morning. If you want to know what the real grief looks like, it’s mom and I sitting on the couch in tears making these phone calls, crying uncontrollably, talking about memories with him, and then trying to smile knowing he is looking down on us happy that we are helping each other through. In the midst of the phone calls and tears we have realized honestly how unprepared we were for this to happen. We did not anticipate loosing him so soon, and it hurts so much.

As you know, there are costs to final services and getting him flown back to NC to be laid to rest, and we are asking for your help. Mo meant so much to so many and was so selfless, always taking care of others. Now it’s our turn to take care of him.

Every single cent donated at this link will go towards services for Bobby Horne. If you are not in a position to donate, please continue to send prayers for us, his family, and everyone grieving the loss of such an absolutely amazing man. πŸ‘‘

With a heavy heart, I bring the saddest of news. Our friend, mentor, brother, father figure, and Denise’s other half has graduated from this life last night in Dallas, TX. My following words may have typos or miss a word or letter, but this is from my heart.

I find peace in knowing that he loved each of us more than we could have imagined. His faith in our abilities far outweighed what we could dream. He knew we could unlock potential if we just pushed through our mental restrictions. His mission was to reach a million children and help to bring them out of whatever uncomfortable situations they may have been in and give them an opportunity to do something greater through professional wrestling. We have not yet reached 1 million, but I know his legacy will. We will all strive to be a beacon of light and love as he was. His love was strong and at times felt harsh, but a good father figure will tell you when you’re stepping out of line. A good father will lead you through the tough times even when you want to quit. However, a good father figure also knows when to let you step away. He did all of that. Even when it broke his heart to let people step away or leave altogether, he understood. He cried tears for you, but he understood. I know because I saw those tears and had those conversations with him.

So when you look at professional independent wrestling, now, know that you’re seeing so many of his fingerprints. His legacy is never ending. His love lives on through each of us. Anyone who came into contact with Bobby Horne, Sir Mo, had a Mo’Ment with him. A story to tell. A lesson learned. We are all grateful for how he poured into us.

Through this time, please consider leaving your favorite Mo’Ments in the comments and consider a donation as his family navigates these waters. Please continue your prayers. There are sadly still medical bills to pay, funeral costs, and other expenses that will be beyond uncomfortable to handle as we mourn. Let us encourage her and all his friends and family to continue his Mission. Because through us, #SirMoLives

Bobby is still on a mission and we’re still praying hard for his recovery.

Update from one of Bobby’s daughters today, October 14.

Just a little catch up and update on Bobby Horne. After being diagnosed with Pneumonia and Septic shock last week, in the last 7 days, they have told us on 3 separate occasions that he may not make it through the night. The third time his body couldn’t tolerate Dialysis so they had to stop the machine and were afraid he may decline rapidly after. But he didn’t. He fought through and they were able to restart Dialysis this morning.

Y’all this man is such a fighter. 🀯 I knew it already but he continues to amaze us everyday!

As of right now the nurses are working on slowly tapering him off of the blood pressure medications so that they can start pulling off the fluids through Dialysis again. We also think the antibiotics are on the right track and have started fighting the infection.

His wound is still not in great shape, but that is something they will focus more on once he is back to being stable and off the blood pressure medications.

He is still in ICU and is still ventilated, but he has pulled through the worst 3 times now and is in better condition than he has been. It is still a long road, but we are looking up and being hopeful!

Please keep the prayers coming!

πŸ«‚And hug your loved ones today. Send them a mesaage to remind them that you love them. Because thats what Mo would do.

From Denise, Sunday, October 12

I'm sorry I haven’t posted an update in a several days. It’s been touch and go since Tuesday, and honestly, it’s taken me a while to find the words.
On Tuesday afternoon, Bobby began having a cough, and all the doctors scrambled to run every test they could, to find out what was wrong. They discovered pneumonia and that he was in septic shock. Things changed so quickly — it was terrifying how fast everything happened.
As his body grew weaker from heavy breathing, the doctors told us they needed to intubate him to help him rest.  So he was intubated Wednesday and by Wednesday evening, we heard the heartbreaking words— that he may not make it through the night. But if you know Bobby, you know he’s a fighter through and through… and he did make it through the night.
Thursday brought a little calm after the storm. But by Thursday morning he had been placed on four medicines to keep his blood pressure up, so things seemed a little more steady but still scary.  His daughters arrived from Tennessee that day, and we were so grateful gather together for him.
Then by Friday mid morning the doctors wanted to talk with the family again.  And once again we were told he may not make it.  They also at this time had discovered the exact bacterial infection and were able to adjust his antibiotics to help more and he pulled thru Friday.
Friday evening into Saturday we’ve seen a few small but meaningful steps in the right direction.  They've been able to wean him down to 3 blood pressure meds and his lactic acid has been going down even though it is still at a dangerously high level of 12.3.
He’s still intubated and still receiving 24/7 dialysis, but they can’t begin removing fluid until he’s off a couple more of the blood pressure meds.
His family from a North Carolina arrived in Dallas last night and is here with him this morning.
This has been such a scary and uncertain time, but Bobby continues to show us what faith, strength, and determination truly look like. Every time they’ve said he may not make it, he’s proved them wrong. He’s still fighting — one breath, one hour, one day at a time.
Please keep those prayers coming. Every single one is felt and appreciated more than you’ll ever know. ❀️

As of Friday, October 10:

Specific prayer request: that the klebsiella infection be completely eradicated from Bobby Horne’s body. That his lactic acid levels continue to drop. That his BP and heart rate stays up and they can ween him off the several medications helping to keep it at a good level and that they stay where they need to be as the medication is reduced. And, that his wound heals completely with zero complications! Pray that each of the healthcare workers are exactly those who he needs in place to administer the necessary care. That each person in his vicinity are exactly who’s needed to be by his side with tbe best knowledge for his situation. That their minds not fatigue in the continuous care they’re providing.

If you’re able, please donate to his fundraiser. Regardless of any donations, please lift him in your prayers. We prayed with him tonight with several of us gathered around his bed. We have faith that he will be with us ringside again but his health is imperative before his return. Thank you for all your support!
