Hello friends! Degina was a victim of the school shooting attack on Friday, November 25, 2022, in Aracruz (Brazil) and is in critical condition. I had the opportunity to serve 5 transfers (almost 8 months) on my mission in this area and I consider it a second home. Degina and her family are wonderful like all the members in Aracruz and they could really use our help. I am collecting funds for Degina and her family during this challenging time to send to them before Christmas. Hello everyone once again! I wanted to give you a final update on Sister Degina. She is out of the hospital and with her family! She was able to come home right before Christmas which is a huge blessing. She is in a wheelchair for the foreseeable future, but our hopes are that with time she will strengthen her legs and walk again.
I want to thank you all so much for your help. I transferred the money over to Degina and her family this week and they were very, very touched. I appreciate your kindness, as does she and her family.
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! Have a Happy New year as well!

Hi everyone! I want to thank everyone who has donated so far. This means the world to me and I know it'll mean the world to Degina and her family. I wanted to update you all to let you know that Degina opened her eyes for the first time the other day while her husband was there. Although she wasn't able to talk due to tubes being in her mouth, he felt like she was understanding what he was saying while she had her eyes open. She did run a brief fever but that is now under control. They good news is that she will be able to keep her legs which fills me with so much happiness and relief! She is still in the hospital and will be for a while while she still gets better. She was shot 5 times in her legs, abdomen and shoulder. She still needs prayers and support so please share this post with others so that we might receive more donations! Thank you all!
