This is Rosie. More specifically, this is Her Royal Highness Lieutenant Commander Rosie Lee [redacted] Beefstick.
HRH Queen Elizabeth fixed my tutu. Proof that I am royalty.
Rosie has Addison’s disease. Basically, her body doesn’t produce enough hormones. Once diagnosed, it’s easy enough to treat and Rosie can get back to trying to eat the cats, napping outside in the sun, and trying to eat underpants.
True story. And I’ve had both emergency surgery and an enema to get them out!
Unfortunately, unlike an underpants crisis, Addison’s is very hard to diagnose since it resembles many other doggo diseases. We found out because Rosie had what’s called an Addisonian Crisis.

Princess Rose went very quickly from Perky Pittie Princess to tired, weak, cold little pupper. We took her to PETS in Lancaster and she was put in the ICU. Her blood sugar and blood pressure were very low, and her heart rate was all over the place.

Fortunately, the vet on duty was incredibly quick. One second we were talking about a DNR, the next she busts into the room and says Rosie’s adrenal glands aren’t working, everything makes sense, and it’s treatable!
Also two people told Mom & Dad how cute I am.
That’s the good news. Everything so far points to Rosie coming out of this pretty much just fine.
I mean, as fine as I was before, I guess…
The bad news is that we need help. We put down a deposit with PETS today, but we need help with the balance. The estimate from this incident, with Rosie in critical care and then Puppy ICU, is around $2500.

It’s safe to say that Rosie has brightened the day of just about everyone she’s met, and quite a few that have never met her in person.
Maybe not the cats, though. Totally not because I try to eat them sometimes.
