The family is asking for support in order to gain the funds for urgent medical support. Belals wife has been suffering for over a year with severely herniated discs in her back, which cause intense radiating pain and impacts her ability to walk, sit, stand, and do any daily activities. The medications she’s been prescribed have caused painful sores in her mouth and stomach; she can no longer handle the painkillers and anti-inflammatory medicines. Physical therapy has done little to improve her condition. There is not a single MRI machine that hasn’t been destroyed in Gaza; since doctors cannot see the discs or how the nerves have been affected, they cannot safely operate. She must have surgery outside of Gaza and needs your help to raise the travel funds.

The situation has exhausted the whole family. Belal works long hours and must often travel far from his family, to come home and complete much of the heavy work and help his wife to doctors appointments, find medicine and other resources, overcome daily obstacles to improve the health of his family, and more. His wife is completely exhausted from the seemingly never-ending pain of over a year, including months in a tent. Their young children help their parents as much as possible, but the entire family has lived through genocide the last 2 years and need respite.
