We first adopted Gidget 3 years ago from the humane society, since then she's become a core and important member of our family. She is currently 11 years old as far as we know, as she was a senior cat and her exact dot is unknown. This last Sunday she starting having vomiting fits and was unable to use the restroom. At first, we thought she might have over eaten as she's done this before and usually perks up after a few hours. Fast forward to midnight and she's still vomiting and struggling to use the litter box. I rush her to the emergency vet, the bill for the visit and the anti nausea medicine put me in the negative by 500 dollars which is a problem considering I recently lost my job.

Moreover, she still needs to get blood work, x rays, and an ultrasound by a cardiologist as the vet discovered she had a fairly big heart murmur. All in all, we're looking at a medical expense of at least 1500 dollars. Money we don't have, but this is essential to potentially saving Gidgets life if there is anything threatening it. We don't have insurance and I don't qualify for scratch pay or care credit so all the expenses have to come out of pocket We love her with all our heart and humbly ask everyone to help with what they can. Even if you cannot donate PLEASE share this with everyone you can. Any small effort will help.

Hey everyone! So we got her x rays done and as it turns out gidget is older than we thought! Around 12 or 13 as opposed to 11 like we were led to believe by her previous vet. The good news is, the heart murmur and anemia do not seem to be a threat to gidgets life as it stands. We still need to get an ultrasound to confirm any final issues the X-rays might have missed but the vet assured us there is no rush. The other good news is our mother found out she can get pet insurance through her job, albeit may take about a month for it to kick in. BUT it will cover most future expenses. So thankfully, we do not need much more donations as gidget is seemingly back to normal now. I'm going to leave this up for at least a couple weeks as a just in case,(after all we don't know what could happen in the future) but barring any unforseen tragedy, This campaign will thankfully be closed by the end of july

I want to thank everyone again for giving what they could, and sharing what they could. It means the world to us and never thought we would get so much support for our sweet little gidget. And I know gidget thanks you all for your incredible generosity too!!

Hello, firstly I want to thank everyone who has donated and shared thus far. Your help is truly and greatly appreciated.

Secondly, I want to give a quick update on gidgets condition. We managed to get her blood work done yesterday, and the vet discovered a few things. 1. She seems to have mild anemia, so she's being put on a strict diet, and 2. They discovered she has some lesions near her liver. In order to know more, we need to get her x rays done which we are planning to this Sunday.

The cost of everything so far still seems to be around 1500 dollars thankfully so please continue to share this with everyone you know so we can raise more money to help get gidget the help she needs sooner!
