It's been a long time coming. An album of my original music infused with my unique energy imprint. Clean and clear, purely Sarah Songbird. A woman and her voice, her guitar, and her heart on her sleeve. The moment has arrived and all seems to be coalescing for this music to be brought forth swiftly and with ease.
I have selected 7 songs, written through some of the deepest initiations of my adult life.
These songs have been birthed through challenge and empowerment, times when my heart was stretched beyond what I knew possible. And also from the other side of the spectrum; the times when I was lifted into exalted gratitude and liberation.
The themes are recurrent throughout the album. Trust. Surrender. Waves devouring and washing me clean. Freedom. Death and rebirth. Shining my inner light through it all.
If you’ve been following my journey you know how wildly I have been dancing with these waves, and also how I have emerged into a new dawn of my life.
The album will take you on an intimate journey. Through these songs I hope to offer you some of the keys I have uncovered along the way that may be useful for your walk in the peaks, valleys and meadows of your own life.
I am excited to be working with a wonderful recording engineer, Robin Applewood, whose studio is located right in the heart of the town where I lived out many of the chapters of my life captured in these songs; Felton, CA.
