We were so excited to build our dream home, but things took a turn for the worse. The foundation turned out to be a mess, leading to mold growth and terrible drainage issues. The contractors we trusted betrayed us, buying the wrong-sized gutter, causing rainwater to leak through our walls and ceilings. It's been a constant battle, dealing with the aftermath of their lies and mistakes. It's heartbreaking to see our vision crumble before our eyes. We have tried everything, our ceilings leak, the water comes through the concrete of the walls and pours through the floors ruining anything in its path and spreading mold like a wildfire. The hurricanes and constant storms have made it really difficult to get the floors to dry. There have been countless nights where we have spent vacuuming and mopping the water out of room hoping to save some of our stuff. We have cats who reside in this area too, and when our youngest cat passed with no reasonable cause and we found more mold we couldn’t help but think this is what caused it. No matter how hard we try to keep fans going and bleach baths to dry out the mold we can’t get rid of it. Oil is so expensive and with winter coming up we could barely scrap by with that on top of the normally bills and groceries going up so high. My mom doesn’t like talking about it but we are struggling to pay bills and I’m doing the best I can to help out by working 45 hours every week on top of going to school but it’s just so expensive to live these days. It’s not like us to ask for money and she would be so embarrassed to even know this is happening but it’s gotten so bad I don’t want to lose our home but between the mold and normal bills we are starting to drown. The mold has gotten so bad that when fully exposed for a prolonged period of time I can feel my throat close. Please help us, anything will help!
