In previous years I have used a few different platforms to raise money for the personal TNR work that I do with a few friends in our region of northeast Colorado, in and surrounding the city of Sterling. There have been some extremely generous donations made to help the local cats, which have been much appreciated and kept us able to do this work to help so many cats who otherwise would live pretty awful lives.
The only way we have been able to do this is because we have found some organizations willing to help - low-cost TNR clinics, rescues that take the young kittens who can be socialized so they can have a real home off the streets, and in particular, a small rescue that has opened their doors and hearts to many of Sterling’s kittens and cats.
Little Rescue on the Prairie is managed by a very few dedicated volunteers, and is making a huge impact in the region.
This year, I have chosen to run this fundraiser because this shelter is doing amazing work toward TNR and also sheltering cats who have been surrendered or lost their homes to fire, human health problems, and abuse/neglect cases. They have helped us help so many cats that we might not have been able to otherwise.
Even though they apply for all available grants, and cats are being adopted into great homes, medical bills are outpacing income from any source.
This fundraiser is in place to the meet the medical expenses for the stray and surrendered cats currently in the shelter as well as the ones that are constantly being dropped off.
They are a 501c3 non-profit, PACFA licensed cat shelter
