In June 2026, I am running the Leadville Trail Marathon! It's marketed as the toughest trail marathon in the country. This year, I decided to run a charity bib for the local community non-profit LT100 Legacy Foundation, who supports hundreds of local non-profits in the Leadville area.
Simply put, when the Leadville mine closed in 1982, it plunged the area into poverty. Ultra-running and endurance sports have been a huge part of economic support of the area, and running a charity bib means that the local economy and non-profit organizations get a lot more that just funds to support clean trails: it means that funds are available to support scholarships for local high schoolers to pursue education, a new CT scanner for the local hospital, new AED machines for local search and rescue, and stage upgrades for a local theater. I want to run big ticket races, and I also want to support communities that make these races happen. I hope to run Leadville 100M someday. Help me try to earn a ticket, and support the local community too!
