Help Us Get Through This Medical Crisis

Over the years, I have been blessed by people who have shown up for me and my family during difficult times. Whether through encouragement, prayers, practical help, or financial support, your kindness has helped us weather challenges that would have been impossible to face alone. It is never easy to ask for help, especially knowing how much generosity has already been extended to us, but today I find myself once again in need of the support of my community.

Recent health challenges have left my family facing circumstances we cannot manage alone.

After a recent hospitalization, my condition deteriorated to the point that I am now almost entirely bed-bound. I can only walk a few feet with assistance, and many everyday tasks have become difficult or impossible.

In addition to the chronic illness that led to my hospitalization, I am now dealing with severe hospital-acquired deconditioning. Extended time in bed and limited mobility caused me to lose significant strength, stamina, and independence. Before my hospitalization, I was able to work and manage my daily responsibilities. Today, I need assistance to walk even short distances, and rebuilding the strength I lost has proven to be a long and difficult process.

I was offered inpatient rehabilitation. I declined because I was concerned about the financial impact on our household and hoped to return to work quickly to help support my wife and pay our bills. Unfortunately, my recovery has not progressed as hoped, and I remain unable to work.

The loss of income, combined with ongoing medical expenses and household costs, has placed tremendous strain on our family. My wife is working hard to keep us afloat while also helping care for me.

We are asking for help with essential expenses, including housing, utilities, food, medical transportation, and basic daily living costs during my recovery.

If you are able to contribute, please know that any amount helps. If you cannot give financially, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much.

Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers during one of the most difficult times in our lives. We remain hopeful that with time, treatment, and community support, I will regain my strength and return to work and the life I love.

With gratitude,

Max and Family

I am going to need to do what’s known as stretcher transport to get home because having assistance for getting up the porch steps is advised by PT and original plan was for me to Uber home but PT says that’s I’ll-advised. I’ve found a structure transport company and ambulance company that will do the structure transport and get me up to steps for $733. This would have to be paid at the time of the trip and the plan is for me to continue physical therapy when I get home don’t know when that’ll be but I need to get the heck out of here because this experience is impacting my mental health in a serious way
