I’m reaching out to share some incredibly tough news.
Recently, my beloved photography equipment, the heart and soul of my creative work for over 15 years, was stolen during a private brand event (more details below).
This gear has been with me through countless moments, capturing stories and creating memories.
I was waiting for the right moment to do something that wasn't fundraising, but as if the first episode wasn’t enough, in the last 12 hours of writing this, while shooting an event from the crowd, my backup lenses got drenched with half a can of water, making them unusable. So now I'm officially out of any reportage gear (my main type of photography) and all the backup equipment I had.
Adding to the chaos, I've been going through severe housing troubles for over a year now, along with my grandma moved here when the situation in Ukraine was getting out of hand. So she now lives with me until things settle down back home. We are at constant risk of the last stage of eviction (aka: the eviction), and I literally don't have my basic instruments to work.
A few weeks ago, I got hit by a taxi while biking, and just when I thought things couldn't get worse, I received some medical news that's really shaken me.
Needless to say, this June wasn't my lucky month.
It feels like New York, the city I love and poured my heart into, is pushing me away with everything it’s got.
I’ve always been a hard worker, but it’s getting really tough to keep my head above water right now. I’m determined to keep creating and sharing beauty with the world, but it's time to admit I need some help to get back on my feet.
