My story...
Since I was 2 years old I began taking dance classes, and I immediately loved being on stage. I found a passion in something that became my escape from reality. I joined the competitive dance team at my studio when I was 8. I was filled with so my drive to become the best version of myself. My specialty was acrobatics and I loved learning new tricks as often as I could. I was on the competitive dance team until I graduated high school and did a solo every single year, many group dance pieces, a few duets, and small groups.
When I was 10, I joined theater in my local community theater and that helped me with my stage presense and getting out of my comfort zone of speaking on stage. Then fast forward a few years and I graduate high school and move off to college at Louisiana State University. I was the small fish in the big pond. During my welcome week I took an aerial yoga class and the trainer told me to join her aerial silks class. I went to the aerial silks class and my whole world expanded. I found something to excite my passion even more. I found a hobby that pushed me past my limits and I was grateful.
In 2019, I was offered an opportunity to perform aerial silks and dance in Edinburgh, Scotland in the summer of 2020. I was shocked and excited to have the chance of a lifetime. Then, the global pandemic happened and for the next two years there was no traveling out of the country. Then in early 2022 we were getting the chance to take our show Dream Logos to Edinburgh, Scotland.
As exciting and freedom this trip is bringing me, I am raising money to take myself on this trip to Study Abroad with LSU and perform in Dream Logos. I am raising money because this is my dream to go before I start my full-time position in Denver, Colorado. If anyone has any opportunity to help me in going on my trip, I am just a young adult trying to follow my passions. Thank you in advance!
