🍒In November I collapsed in my house and had two abdominal surgeries back to back. The hardest part of this was missing Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family but I'm Thankful to be alive and very thankful for my health care workers who are now like family to me.
🍒These surgeries have made it so I have to re-learn to walk and other things such as brain sharpness and continent control. I am getting a handicapp sticker for my van and access bus and I'm very thankful for that !
🍒Things are still lacking to make it easier for me to get around in my house because my house is not ADA compliant. I am getting a wheelchair ramp built but I need ADA compliant bathrooms as my current bathrooms tubs are too high for me to step into. Also the doors in my house I am unable to put my wheelchair through so it makes it extremely difficult to move around throughout the house.
🍒So People are asking me what they can do to help and I never know how to answer so here it is!
📌To make it very clear I'm hoping to have all my doorways widened in my house and at least one bathroom made ADA Compliant. I am also hoping to get a Get a new motorized bed and Motorized Lift up chair and more supplies that I need on a daily basis.
🙏 This won't last forever -I will walk by myself again and I am doing much better at home but again when people ask what they can do to help -it's very hard to admit that I need help and so that's why I'm doing this Fundraiser.
⛑Due to my lack of income (because I was gone for four months) I am Being proactive to make income again- so I am in school 🎓taking courses for a new career change that will make it easier for me to make income again. I'm extremely excited about this and it makes it easier to focus on something while I'm in recovery. We still have a bunch of co-pays for medical Bills And ambulance transportation which was extensive even though we are insured .
