Lanze Spears was a talented filmmaker who passed away unexpectedly on Oct 21, 2023, at 36 years old.   He achieved his undergraduate and graduate degrees from SCAD [Savannah College of Art and Design in directing, producing, and business.   After college, he created the multi-award-winning documentary series, 20 Something and 20 Something NY, the video trailer shown here.  This series was based on the lives of several Millennial’s living in different cities and their experiences after college, seeking and working towards their dreams.  He also created short films about the human condition including bullying, homelessness, and young adults coping with grief.  His passion was speaking to high school and college students encouraging them to pursue their creativity and dreams. Lanze wanted to inspire them to create, create, create, and not listen to anyone who tells you that your idea makes no sense or cannot be done, because it can, if you are willing to work for it.

Our cause is important because we want to use the creative arts in education to inspire young people to become visual storytellers with a focus on how they can work together to improve the lives of those less fortunate.  To be able to help those young people who do not have the opportunities or support that Lanze was blessed to have.  To help all those undiscovered genius' find their path to become caring creative citizens to help make the world a better place by using their gifts.  The funds will offer talent development scholarships to young media artists and professionals in partnership with The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, located in Hartford, CT.
