Hello Everyone, my name is K, I am one half of the #DorianCoreyProject which is a local online community resource dedicated to preserving local Black Lgbtq* histories in WNY. We operate to help spread awareness on our elders past and present as well as utilizing our reach to help vulnerable community mutual aid networks due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Our network helps community members to fulfill their needs ranging from medical care to transition needs to rental assistance.
Unfortunately my family is in desperate need for aid, as the pandemic has rendered our employment opportunities obsolete. On top of needing funds to navigate the healthcare and dental industry for necessary procedures related to cancer screenings, our family is at risk of losing our housing. Currently without gas and hot water, we are unable to continue our duties effectively which in turn will affect many other community members and their ability to have their needs met.
We are currently asking for 5k to cover not only medical expenses but to restore internet access and also to be able to have hot water/gas turned back on. Due to our cancer scares exacerbated by exposure to Covid-19 we are also needing assistance to attain proper PPE to navigate the medical and dental industries. Every little bit helps!
