For more than two years, my husband and I fought to keep our heads above water. We were working—always working—but never able to save enough to escape the cycle of homelessness. Without a car, most of our earnings went straight to transportation, leaving little for stability.
Then, a glimmer of hope: we finally scraped together enough for a tiny trailer. Just 12x7, without a kitchen or bathroom—but to us, it was everything. A place to call home. A place to build a life. A place where, alongside our beloved Chihuahua, Sadie Ann, we felt safe for the first time in years.
That safety shattered on May 20th.
While we were at work, a fire tore through our trailer. Sadie was inside.
We lost everything—our home, our belongings, and most devastatingly, our sweet Sadie Ann, our baby, our heart.
Now, we are homeless again, grieving not only what we built, but the little soul who made it home. No family to turn to. Few friends to lean on. Just heartbreak and the hope that somewhere out there, someone will care enough to help us start over.
We do have a Red Cross disaster verification letter if proof of our loss is needed.
If you’ve ever known struggle, grief, or the pain of losing something precious, please consider helping us. A donation, a share, a kind word—anything means the world right now.
Thank you for taking the time to hear our story. Thank you for believing in second chances.
