Hi, my name is Sam. On January 18th 2023 my girlfriend and I got into a car accident. Luckily we walked away with no more than some whiplash and mild concussions, at least we thought so. In March of 2023 I had a seizure at work that landed me in the emergency room where they did nothing but give me IV fluids and sent me home. The following week I had another seizure at work and this one cost me my job.
I have spent the last two, almost three years now desperately trying to be taken seriously by medical professionals. Now I finally have a doctor who wants to find the root of the problem but I cannot afford the out of pocket cost for my MRI. This MRI is one of many steps I will have to take to finally understand what i've been fighting with my whole life. I have never been diagnosed with a seizure disorder however this was not my first traumatic brain injury. TBI's [traumatic brain injuries] can cause seizures in over 50% of those who have experienced severe traumatic brain injuries.
