At the beginning of summer, I couldn’t wait to spend time with my family—swimming, having BBQs, and making memories with my kids. Unfortunately, our summer turned into one unexpected situation after another.
I don’t have family here in Pennsylvania or anyone nearby who I can turn to when we’re struggling. Our family vehicle broke down, and we were able to get another vehicle, but within a week or so, that one ended up in the shop needing an engine replacement. The unexpected car problems have been incredibly difficult for our family. They kept my husband from being able to work and took away what was supposed to be a fun summer for our kids.
We finally have the vehicle back, but after everything we’ve had to deal with, we have no money left for our children’s back-to-school needs. We also have an older child preparing to move away for college, which has brought even more expenses at a time when we’re already struggling.
Right now, we’re trying to get back on our feet. We need help with gas so my husband can get back and forth to work, as well as school supplies and other back-to-school necessities for our five children, ages 10–18.
I know everyone has their own struggles and expenses, so I completely understand that not everyone is able to donate. If you can help, even a small amount would mean so much to our family. If you can’t donate, simply sharing our fundraiser could help us reach someone who can.
We’re just asking for a little help getting through this difficult time and getting our family back to normal.
