As a teenage girl, I was constantly searching for a community that made me feel fully loved and cared for whilst also giving me the opportunity that made me feel like I was doing something for the betterment of others. A friend of mine encouraged me to enter into a Miss America Organization preliminary competition. I had been involved in musical theatre for practically my entire life, but I had never been on a stage in this capacity before. Upon arriving at the competition, I was instantly lifted up by the women that surrounded me, cheering me on and encouraging me every step of the way. As I continued my involvement in the MAO, I consistently worked to grow my Social Impact Initiative, providing me with a sense of fulfillment and the ability to empathize in a way I'd never experienced before. Now, entering my senior year of college, I am confident, I am strong, I am loved, I am involved, and I have an unshakeable joy that I credit all to the MAO. One thing that I wish more than anything is for young women to discover this type of feeling, the thing that makes them beam with joy! For me, it's the Miss America Organization, and it could be for them too.

The Miss America Organization’s mission is to prepare great women for the world, and to prepare the world for great women. One of the ways they do that is by providing scholarships—from the national competition, all the way to our local communities. I hope you will consider donating to this incredible cause!
