When I first saw Karma as a tiny fur ball at three weeks old, I knew he was special. He's been my steadfast companion for seven years now, bringing joy and energy into my life as I navigate the ups and downs of being a widow. Recently, I discovered a lump near his groin, and I can't help but worry. We lost our previous dog to cancer two years ago, and the thought of facing that again with Karma is overwhelming.
Living in Anderson, California, means access to some resources is limited. My daughter has been trying to help, but there aren't any local programs that can ease this burden. Vet visits are costly, and none in our area accept payments, making it almost impossible with my fixed income as a widow of a veteran. I've never reached out like this before, but Karma is my heart and soul. Keeping him healthy is crucial for both of us, and I'm hoping for any support possible to make sure he gets the care he needs.
