Hello. An abrupt and frightening end to my former living situation leaves me needing help covering the cost of temporary housing (a room at a motel, hotel… etc) until the end of the month. That is when my retirement pay comes in and I can relocate myself (and my kitten) to a new and safe residence. I have contacted an emergency women’s shelter locator and will update this if I am able to get in. If someone is willing or knows someone that would be willing to take us in until the end of the month, that would be another helpful option. Here is why I a need help….

Sadly, I was unaware the person I started renting from was battling severe mental/substance abuse issues. This person would occasionally get mad and have verbal outbursts. None directed at me however. Unexpectedly the night of June 14th, all that changed.

That night, I was sitting on my bed when this person came home in an angry and destructive rage I had never seen.  Like a psychotic break. He started yelling and cursing things that made no sense. At times he would mumble incoherently. Almost like he was having a conversation with someone that wasn't there.  When he saw me he started yelling “Get the F k out” and pointing outside.

Luckily most of my things were still in my bags. While I was collecting what wasnt, he came up and pushed me to ground. He then said “Here. Let me FN help you pack faster”. He then grabbed the little pet crate that contained my kitten. I got up to get it back and was shoved back down. He took the crate and tossed it against a wall.  He started grabbing my things and throwing them outside.  If I tried to get up; he would push me back down pointing at me and saying “I’ll Fckn kill you”.

While he was throwing my things out, I was able to dial 911. I left the line open so they could hear. Finally he stepped away from the entry door and started walking toward the bathroom. I grabbed my cat’s crate and ran outside. He followed and gave us one last shove to the ground when the police arrived. He then directed that angry  and erratic behavior towards them. It took tasing him twice to get him under control and cuffed. At the time that I hung up the 911 call, the call time said 18 minutes. 18 minutes of hell.

I am mentally; physically and emotionally exhausted with some bruises and abrasions. I still find myself breaking down thinking about that night. I can’t help but think about what could have happened. My kitten though is fine thank goodnes!! I am honestly more mad about what he did to that helpless little one. Anyway, returning there is not an option so that is why I need. Thank you so much for your time read this.
