Help us secure a $50,000 match! We have been approached by a generous donor who wants to give to the mission of Stand 4 Justice for 2024, but we need your help! This donor will match all of the funds we raise this month up to $50,000!! This is such an amazing gift and we want to utilize the funds wisely! Please read how we will make the most of this donation in 2024.
In 2023, Stand 4 Justice Movement started The Survivor Empowerment Program. The Survivor Empowerment Program seeks to meet survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking where they are and encourage them to become all that they were created to be! Our founder, Sarah-Jane Vegas, knew that it took many tools and healing relationships to help her not just survive her trauma, but thrive, and become the woman she was meant to be. So our team wanted to provide safe community and resources that would empower other women to do the same.
It has been an amazing year as we have served over 50 women and their and through counseling, financial empowerment, self-defense classes, community gatherings and through sponsoring retreats and conferences and a 6-week trauma healing class. We have recently begun partnering with Ascension St. John's human trafficking program to bring more intentional case management with crisis needs, job placement, and more. We are also seeing more referrals from other organizations who would like their clients to be a part of a community like the one Stand 4 Justice has created.
However we need your help! As we begin 2024, we need to replenish our emergency funding as it has been nearly depleted with more than $20,000 going to help with crisis needs this year. We would also like to provide more counseling and create a mentorship program to come alongside women and help them transition through job/career challenges, life crisis, and other needs.
What your donation provides:
$50 - Provides food/gifts for one survivor at our monthly community event. These events have become a source of strength as women encourage each other to heal and overcome through healthy relationships and fellowship. (Last year we impacted over 50 women and their children through our community gatherings.)
$100 -Provides 1 hour of EMDR therapy, a specialized therapy proven to help those affected with complex PTSD, which affects many survivors of trafficking.
$125 - Provides case management for a survivor of trafficking for one month. This includes job opportunities, mentorship, counseling referrals, and one-on-one support and encouragement.
$250 - Provides utilities for a survivor during a financial difficulty or provide groceries for her and her children. (Last year we provided over $15,000 in emergency needs.)
$300 - Provides a six-week trauma-healing class for a survivor of trafficking. These group therapy classes are proven to provide tools for self-compassion and re-parenting for anyone who has experienced trauma.
$600 - Funds a Women's Empowerment (self-defense) class led by trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructors. These trauma-informed classes help women who have experienced trauma learn how to use their voice and overcome a negative self-image and false beliefs. They also learn practical tools to defend themselves in real-life threatening situations.
