Lillian and I are excited to be fundraising for a mission trip in early 2027!
This opportunity was offered to us a couple of months ago and we feel called to go and share the GOOD NEWS of Jesus with others!
This invitation has given me the chance to reflect on my faith journey and just how much it was needed in my life. I was blessed to grow up in a home that attended church every Sunday and to attend a Christian school, but it wasn’t until much later in my adult life that I finally truly accepted Jesus as Lord of my life. You see, I spent my teenage and young adult years chasing the world. Trying to find happiness in the world and acting a fool – and spoiler alert… I didn’t find happiness there, just emptiness. I know what it feels like to live life without Jesus, and I don’t want that for anyone. I’m forever thankful that God shook me awake and I was able to finally TRULY accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. He has been refining me and growing me in so many ways over the last few years – and He is not done yet. I have learned so much from some of the great Christians in my life and have been able to dive much deeper into the Bible and prayer than I ever thought I could. It wasn’t until after I accepted this opportunity that I looked back in my prayer journal to see a pattern of praying for boldness to share Jesus – (now, to be fair, when I was praying this, I didn’t exactly mean I wanted to leave the country and share the Gospel... but who am I to not accept what God has put in front of me!) I think my past away from Christ puts me in a position that can help me connect with others who are also apart from Him. I’m not saying I have all the answers, or that I am eloquent, or that I’m even the greatest example of Christ – but what I am is obedient and know the Holy Spirit is with me and will guide me. So, here I am, trusting that God will provide what we need in order to fulfill this chapter.
When Lillian was at Spencer Lake camp in the 4th grade, she felt a calling from the Lord that she was meant to share the Gospel with others. Flash forward to this past fall, when she was at Youth Convention, she felt that the Lord was leading her into music ministry. Since then, she has been dedicated to learning the guitar and continuing to learn piano, as well as working on her vocal performance. She was able to participate in the Fine Arts competition in Milwaukee in May, which further clarified to her that this is the path she feels she is to be on. Since then, we have had a few chances to lead small worship sessions here and there and will be continuing to do them as the chances arise. As a mom, my goal is to give her as much opportunity and experience as I can. So, when this invitation to take this trip came, I knew this was something that Lillian would gain not only experience from but also deepen her faith as well. While we are there, we will have the chance to lead some worship and help run some children’s programs, amongst other programs and ministry opportunities set up through the missionaries we will be working with. They are already in country and actively working within the community, so there will not be shortage of chances to serve!
While I didn’t know at first how we’d manage to fund this dream, we trust completely in the purpose behind it. This journey is more than just a trip; it’s a calling to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ across borders. We are just regular gals who have felt a call from the Lord and are prayerfully ask for help in funding this opportunity to share Jesus with others. Thank you and God bless!
