On September 2nd 2021, at about 10:30 PM, my father, Jose Franklin Sanchez, went to pick up my mother from work. When traveling down Pelandale, a drunk driver hit his car in a rear-end crash. The drunk driver was going 90 miles per hour and he had flipped my father's car over with the crash. He was so injured, he had to be sent to UC Davis by helicopter, where we learned that my father had suffered severe spinal fractures, his aorto had become swollen, several ribs were fractured, his lungs were filled with fluids, his right leg had been/still is unresponsive, and he even had brain bleed. There first two were of critical concern, extensive surgery was performed to stabilize his back and secure the function of aorta. Even after the procedures, he remains (as of writing this) in the ICU, kept sedated so that he doesn't aggrevate his wounds and under the watchful eye of the medical staff that keep his condition stable. His road to recovery might have gotten a decent start with the two operations going well, but in order to allow to focus solely on recovery, if whoever is reading this would be so kind, to donate what they can so that my family can stabilize our finances. Thank you for your time!

Our family was struggling more financially than we initially thought, so we decided that it would be best to increase the goal. The increased goal has already been reached, for which we will eternally be grateful. Thank you all for your help and kindness.

Last night, at 10:40pm, September 28, my father passed away. His lungs were too damaged to heal and his body needed to rest. Jose Sanchez was a wonderful and loyal family man and friend. He sought nothing more than to protect his loved ones however he could. He will always be loved and missed by us. This fundraiser is now focused on his funeral rites and general support for our family in these trying times. Please share and donate if you can. Thank you all so much for the love and support shown to us all.
