War in Ukraine caused chaos not only in people’s lives, but also in lives of their pets domesticated animals.
My childhood friend in Kiev, Waleriy Lydmirski is a dog lover; he has two German Sheppards at home. Waleriy together with his wife and other volunteers providing help for left behind after Kiev’s evacuation domesticated animals as well as horses. There are two locations at this time: one is in Pinchuky Village and other is in Malutenka Village. Everyday local volunteers are brining domesticated animals from Kiev and local villages to these two locations. My friend Waleriy stresses out that domesticated animals can not survive by themselves on the bombing streets of Kiev with the sound of sirens for evacuation.
Every day volunteers build new spaces for new animals and feed them, however, there are limited amount of food at this time. The amount of animals grows everyday, but the amount of food left is only for 5 days .
They desperately need to buy more food, hay and pay for food delivery. Military action does not allow to set up the logistics of delivery. Many drivers refuse to deliver food due to the war, and those who agree to deliver charge four times the amount.
Besides food, recued animals need medicines and qualified medical care of the veterinarians.
