Hello, my name is Ben Williams. I am about to begin my freshman year of college at the University of Louisville. In the summer of 2027, the university's band will be taking an invite-only group to Europe to enjoy exploring five different countries and playing concerts in each of them. I was one of the few nominated for this trip.
Throughout high school, I was heavily involved in band and music. I was a section leader in marching band, auditioned into multiple honor bands each year, and gave thousands of hours of my time to making the band better. Unfortunately, I am not cut out to be a professional musician, so while I will still be involved in band, my major and studies will be in another field. Being able to attend this trip would absolutely be the climax of my musical journey. There will never be another opportunity for me to play concerts in all of the famous locations and experience the many new cultures from a musical perspective. Not only is this trip going to be fun, but incredibly educational. I will be able to apply what I learn from this two week trip to the rest of my life. This is the most excited I have been for a vacation!
As I just graduated high school 2 months ago, the monetary burden of college, this trip, and life is heavy. While I am absolutely not going to ask random people to foot the entire $8000 price tag, I would greatly appreciate it if you could find it in your heart to help me out a little. Any amount given eases the stress of obtaining this money and I will be eternally greatful to anyone who helps me. I know this opportunity will never present itself to me again, so I am taking the actions that allow me to seize it and lead a life of learning and adventure.

We will be visiting five different countries: Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and France. In each of these countries we will be touring famous landmarks such as the Astronomical Clock in Czech, castles in Czech, Austria, and Germany, the Matterhorn in Switzerland, the Louvre in France, and many others. There will be concerts in all sorts of cathedrals and gardens, and time to explore the towns we visit on our own.
