Today I met 7-year-old Valentina and her mom Esmerait selling drinks to help support her fight against cancer.
I surprised them with a $1,000 tip, and they immediately broke down in tears and shared their story.
Valentina was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and was given just a 5% chance of survival.
But she beat the odds—and she’s still fighting today.
Her mom is a single mother of three who is also battling serious health issues of her own. Caring for Valentina has made it extremely difficult to work, and they have to Uber to and from her cancer treatments every day, adding another huge expense.
They’ve fallen behind on rent and bills while her mom does everything she can to keep a roof over their heads and give Valentina the care she needs.
No mother should have to worry about losing her home while fighting to save her child.
Our goal is to get this family caught up on rent, cover their transportation and living expenses, and give Mom the breathing room to focus completely on Valentina.
And when we asked Valentina about one of her biggest dreams, she said she wants to go to Disneyland. 😭
Let’s take this burden off their shoulders, send this little girl to Disneyland, and remind this family that they aren’t fighting alone.
