I am reaching out to seek assistance. My name is Cory. I just received devastating news: my budget-friendly apartment will be demolished at the end of my current lease to make way for luxury apartments. I'm all alone in this situation, having no family and only a handful of friends who don't have the space or means to help me. My family abandoned me when I was young and still to this day doesn't want to help me; they only adopted me for financial reasons, and I don't really have a support system in Champaign-Urbana. Financially, I'm struggling due to chronic health issues, yet I continue to work tirelessly seven days a week. Despite my overwhelming challenges, I keep pushing; however, this is beyond my control and ability to handle on my own. I urgently need help raising funds to secure a new place and to help cover moving expenses. This news comes at an incredibly difficult time considering it's Christmas, and the threat of homelessness is looming. Losing my service pet would also pose a serious risk to my mental well-being and overall health. In times like these, community support is crucial.
