DJ, my son, recently turned 17. Although he currently lives in West Virginia, we’ve always had a close bond despite the miles that separate us. I live in Denver, Colorado, and there’s nothing I’d love more than having him here with me. DJ dreams of making his way back to Denver, and to do that, he needs his beloved 2003 Chevy 2500 Duramax up and running. This truck means the world to him because he saved every penny to buy it, showcasing his determination and independence.
Unfortunately, we're just a bit short on funds for the necessary repairs. It's been tough knowing that something as tangible as a truck could keep us apart when DJ and I would both flourish from being together again. Each dent and scratch on his Chevy tells a story of perseverance, and I can see how much he misses driving it down the open roads. Having DJ here would mean everything, not just for me, but because it’s a step towards the bright future we both envision for him.
