TWU Elite was founded by Fineto Lunguana in 2023 after he launched The Warm Up Basketball training program after he returned home due to an injury playing professionally for Poland.
Upon his return home, Coach Fineto began working in youth basketball while recovering from injuries. What he learned and quickly realized is that the youth athletes were not being looked after, coached properly, and mentored in the right way. Coach Fineto saw an opportunity to make an impact unlike any other and give back to his community while changing the name of basketball in Forsyth County, GA. He wants to give an opportunity to young athletes the ability to focus on achieving their goals to play basketball for their Middle and High schools and some achieving the level to play in college with the proper guidance he did not have as a youth.
Coach Fineto wanted something different for his athletes. He wanted to see these young athletes not just learn how to play basketball well but be valued and mentored towards achieving and executing on and off the court, to be positive members to their communities, their families, and become upstanding men and women. He wants his athletes to know that not only did he want to see them succeed but he wanted to see them achieve beyond what they think they can. This concept is often not seen in Forsyth County and by this mentality, he will make one of the largest impacts to our children. His goal will change basketball culture in Forsyth County, Georgia forever.
Coach Fineto is not your typical baller. His passion for basketball started from a young age and grew into his opportunity to play professionally for multiple teams in Europe with the goal of making it to the NBA. While life changed his direction, he took that change and he began to develop and pouring his passion into the The Warm Up basketball coaching program. That experience turned into creating the TWU Elite AAU Youth Basketball Program. An AAU Youth Basketball program unlike any other.
Our boys and girls look forward to seeing Coach Fineto sitting in the stands at their school basketball games to waking early in the morning to attend coaching sessions, attend coaching sessions at night and on weekends, and attending camps throughout the year. By having a dynamic program that not only focuses on the fundamentals of basketball but also creating a safe place for our local youth to seek solace, to have community, be mentored on and off the court and have the guidance to help them be healthy members of society is something our community needs.
Our goals are to have a place to call home for TWU Elite, all of the founding athletes and for many generations to come. We need to raise the funds to building and court that is a 24/7 accessible space for our athletes to be able to call home, to train, to record stats, build athlete portfolios for athletes throughout their careers so they can play in high school, colleges and even professionally, to host other teams, camps, tryouts, tournaments and more. This will be a place where our young athletes can grow, develop, and become the best versions of themselves.
