My name is Alyvia Avant and I’m the oldest of six children. I graduated high school with honors, Summa Cum Laude, and was accepted into the University of Virginia in 2020 as a computer science major, but had to postpone my college journey to focus on helping my siblings and I survive unexpected turmoil.
My dad lost his job in 2019 and my mom lost her job in 2021 in which both of them experienced difficulties recovering from significant financial distress and eventually separated.
This would unfortunately make our family financial distress more worse and resulted in us losing our home in 2021 that we had been living in since 2015. We lost everything; all of our furniture, computers, clothes, TV’s, and even our Suburban.
Since then all six of us have been living with our dad full time working with him to help recover and keep the family together.
We just haven’t made enough to pay for our living expenses and accumulate enough finances to rebuild our home and restore all of our belongings.
We’ve been toughing this out together as a family for 4 years, so now I am starting this fundraiser asking for support that would aid us in restoring our home, transportation, and furniture.
My dad is a single father of six kids and he really has been trying to recover on his own but now we humbly ask for support financially to help us restore our home, and secure transportation to get back and forth to work and school as soon as possible.
