This is my uncle Gonzalo, but we call him Yiyo. He’s my mom’s brother, and right now, he’s in San Cristóbal, Venezuela, facing a very real risk of sudden cardiac death.
He has a device in his heart called a dual-chamber ICD. Basically, it monitors his heart, and if it detects a dangerous rhythm that could stop his heart, it delivers an electric shock to bring it back to a normal rhythm.
We had this procedure done in 2021, but his battery is now running out, and he urgently needs a generator replacement. We’re literally racing against the clock.
We need to raise $10,000 to cover the device, the procedure, and the clinical expenses.
