UPDATE: WELCOME BABY LAUREN 🥹

 

I'm so excited to share that my dear friends Mostafa and Sondos gave birth to a healthy baby girl on March 14th, 2026. I'm further beyond honored to share that they chose to name their beautiful daughter after me 🥺 

Your donations are needed now more than ever to help Sondos recover from her emergency C-section, restore her body after months of severe malnutrition and a high risk pregnancy, and have enough to pay for formula(Sondos is too malnourished to give milk), clothing, and diapers for Lauren. 

My mother and I been Mostafa's main supporters over the past year,  but we have only been able to give small amounts, totaling less than $2,000 over this past year. This fundraiser also will serve to support the rest of their family as much as possible.

Please help keep Mostafa, Sondos, and newborn Lauren healthy and loved. 

About Me, Mostafa, and Sondos 

My name is Renn Simmons and I'm an artist and activist living in Portland, Oregon. I'm raising funds to support my good friend 23 year old Mostafa, his beautiful wife 22 year old wife Sondos, and members of their family in Gaza City, Gaza.

I have been connected to Mostafa for over 2 years now and have had many video chats, photo exchanges, conversations, horror filled conversations after the murder of Mostafa's 2 sisters, aunt, cousins, and friends in bombings, the brutal injury and kidnapping of his brother by the IOF, and the destruction of their family home.

During the worst of the genocide, Mostafa lost a tremendous amount of weight, and was diagnosed with severe jaundice and kidney stones, the latter of which required emergency surgery. His health was so poor that we were not sure he would survive for several months, and his prognosis was very dire for sometime. He miraculously was able to recover, but his long term health continues to suffer. 

In spite of it all, Mostafa worked to help children through play therapy in his forced displacement camp, and married his dear friend and true love Sondos at the end of March 2025.

Sondos is a bright, beautiful, and deeply compassionate young woman, and was studying mechanical engineering prior to the beginning of the genocide. She and Mostafa have been close friends for the past 4 years, and now are starting a life together after experiencing so much loss and pain, and the ongoing suffering in Gaza. 

My mother and I were able to pay the tuition for Sondos to return to school, and we hope your donations will continue to support her. 

Sondos had a devastating miscarriage of their first child in April 2025, and she once again soon became pregnant, struggling through her entire pregnancy with malnutrition. 

I'm so grateful that they were able to bring their beautiful daughter to term and that they get to start their lives together.

Donation Needs 

Like so many of Palestinians in Gaza, Mostafa, Sondos, and their family are once again beginning to experience malnutrition and starvation due to the occupation's manufactured famine since the beginning of the Zioamerican war on Iran. 

Your donations will be used to  help Mostafa, Sondos, and members of their family have food, clothing, baby supplies, and personal care items . 

I will send Mostafa money as soon as enough comes in through direct bank transfers through the Bank of Palestine  which I have used successfully for the past 2.5 years to send money to Mostafa's account.

Spotfund takes a flat fee of 2.9% + $0.30 transaction fee, so please consider this when donating and donate more if you are able to.
