We are battling Verizon in federal court because they want to build a 13-story cell tower 100 feet from 12 people, four of whom are small children.
A third-generation family lives the closest to the proposed site, and they moved to the country to give their children a better life. Now they face the very real chance of being trapped at the base of a massive tower.
Since they recently bought this property, they can't afford to move again. California law no longer requires cell tower contracts to be disclosed to potential homebuyers, so they were not informed of the plans to build a massive tower when they bought these homes.
In 2024, our neighborhood unified and appealed the permit for this tower.
We WON on a county level when our supervisors denied their permit and asked them to select a safe and responsible location AWAY from homes and families instead of 100 feet from children.
Now that we are in federal court, we've had to hire two law firms to help us, and we can't continue this battle without help.
EVERY dollar donated goes to funding the legal team.
Now that the federal judge has granted our motion to intervene, we have a REAL chance of upholding the county's decision and forcing Verizon to install this equipment in a safer, more responsible location.
Please help us protect Addy and the other children so that what happened to Ellie and her family doesn't happen again.
