Hello everyone out there. Thank you in advance for reading.
My husband and I have been happilly married for six years. During those six years we've been barely getting by due to my ongoing medical issues. I'm disabled due to PTSD and severe anxiety and my husband has worked hard to provide for me and our 3 cats.
At the beginning of this year, our appartment nearly burned to the groud due to a faulty smoke detector in a neighboring unit. Soon after, they tested ours, finding that it was also faulty and then did nothing to replace it. We didn't feel safe there anymore and it pushed us to move during the pandemic, a thing we really couldn't afford, but we thought we could handle a lean period to pay for it.
A month later, my husband Mike was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He's only 33. Needless to say, neither of us were ready for this. Doctors put him on chemo. He has insurance to pay for PART of the treatment, but what hit us even harder was the fact that he's not been able to work full time.
As of now, we're behind on just about everything and, though our new rental company has been very kind to us, we are very behind on rent and our other bills. Time really feels like it's running out for us. Soon, Mike will be though his first round of chemo and will be able to work properly again, but I have no idea how we'll ever get caught up. So I'm here. If you have it in you to show us even a little kindness, it would mean more to us than anything in the world.
Thank you for your time.
